Tampa Bay was able to pick up the series win last night with help from Matt Garza’s arm and Evan Longoria’s bat. Taking two out of three from Boston, even this early in the year, is great for team morale. Lets hope the big momentum train rolls into Baltimore tonight as they finish up the three game road trip against the Orioles. Andy Sonnanstine squares off again Mark Hendrickson at 7:05 P.M. EST.
What To Watch For:
The Stine.Mr. Consistent, Sonny takes the hill for the Rays. Look for him to be quick with his pitches and expect a lot of off-speed stuff to be used. The bullpen should be something of interest tonight after last game’s debacle. Who will close if the game is close? Who sets that person up?
Evan Longoria has been hot for the Rays. The number three hitter has two homeruns in his past two games. Look for this to continue against Baltimore. Also with Hendrickson being a lefty Kapler and Zobrist should be starting in CF and RF.
Today’s X-Factor is how deep Sonny will go in the game. The more innings Andy eats up, the less chance of seeing Percy at the end of the game. Let’s also see how effective his new weapon is, the change-up. He’s been working on it all spring and says he’s confident to use it.Also Jason Bartlett in the leadoff spot. Jason went 3-5 with a run and a RBI while leading off against Jon Lester. And Mark Herdrickson is no Jon Lester by any means.
Line-ups will be posted before the game as always.
